jan 1, 1833 - Whig Party Founded by Henry Clay, William Henry Harrison, Daniel Webster, and Horace Greeley. This party acted as a glue pulling together former members of the National Republican and the Anti Masonic Party. It was made in opposition to Andrew Jackson and the Democrats. Whigs stood for protective tarrifs, national banking, and fedral aid for internal improvemet.
