Mauryan Empire is located in india. The Mauryan's practiced buddhism and hinduism for the most part. They were located next to the Ganges rivers. One of the Mauryan Empire's big accomplishments was having a big calvary army. The Mauryan Empire were big traders they even traded all the way to greece. They also had war elephants that would help them in battles. Pataliputra is the capital of the Mauryan Empire. They had a tax collection and had a hierarchical government. A good leader that the Mauryan Empire had was Chandragupta Maurya. He didn't let Alexander the Great get all of india. Alexander the Great only got to take over the northeast part before he died. Another really good leader is Ashoka. He was a brilliant and brutal military leader. Ashoka attacked Kalinga and was horrified by the scene he left. So he decided to switch to Buddhism. 305 BC. Chandragupta Defeats Seleucus. 273 BC. Ashoka becomes the 3rd ruler of Mauryan Empire. 262 BC. Asoka completes his conquest of Kalinga. 262 BC. Rise Of Buddhism. 320 BC. Chandragupta Becomes Ruler. Maureen Empire 322-185 BC.
