World Exploration (28 marzo 1450 anni – 19 magg 1750 anni)

Descrizione:

The Iberian Peninsula created an interesting blend of Renaissance ideology and strong Catholic roots and rivalry with the Muslim Empire. The Ottoman Empire had been the middleman of trade with Asia for the silk and spices that Renaissance Europe desired so much and, after finally pushing all Muslims out of the Iberian Peninsula, wanted new trade routes. Portugal and Spain would fund many explorations to find new trade routes overseas to be able to get Asian goods without relying on the Middle East due to the new technology, such as the compass and astrolabe, innovated in the Renaissance.

With the discovery of Silver, Gold, and the usage of the land for sugar plantations, the New World would become the new center of economy for Europe, especially from the previously mentioned Iberian Peninsula. The Columbian Exchange and Slave Trade and the new influx of gold would destabilize the banking of Europe and lead to extreme inflation. The Catholic Church would strive to gain converts in the New World due to the loss of followers after the Protestant Reformation. Eventually the Iberian Peninsula would be joined by other growing nations of Europe and the entire region would enter a new age of rivalry in claiming as much raw resource and land as they could in the New World. This connection between Europe and the New World would completely change the culture and direction of the Americas as the Natives were nearly destroyed by disease and the primary culture would become European in its foundations.
