It was also called the Seven years war. The first battle was on July 17, 1754. but the British and French did not officially declare war until May 1756. The war ended with the Treaty of of Paris was signed on February 10, 1762. However the treaty's ratification was delayed by critics who thought the conditions were not hard enough. The treaty was ratified on November 10, 1763. The British won the war and Gained Canada and the Appalachian Mountains
