Several Officers Arrested in Drug Ring in Savannah, Ga
Savannah police officers Keith Coleman, Frederick Gorham, Keith London, Eugene Johnson and Damion Welcome are accused of working together in one group from November 1996 to March 1997. Welcome was a Chatham County Sheriff's Office deputy at the time the activity took place, police said.
According to the indictment, Coleman, London, Johnson and Welcome ''did ... attempt to aid and abet the distribution of cocaine ... by providing security and protections for and escorting a cooperating witness and an undercover FBI agent, who were acting as drug couriers.''
