1 gen 1953 anni - Watson and Crick discover the double helix, twisted ladder structure, is the structure of DNA. This marked a major milestone for science, and a cause for modern molecular biology.
Descrizione:
In this experiment, they were experimenting with cardboard cutouts of the nucleotides that contained the different bases. When doing this, Watson realized that A must always bond with T, and C with G. Not only that, the base pairs could be configured in between the carbon backbones, the sugar and phosphate, which made up the outsides of the ladder. Overall, this experiment confirmed that the structure of DNA is the double helix.
