1 nov 2019 anni - Chapter 12

Descrizione:

In Chapter 12, Bruno and Shmuel talk about why they have come to Out-With. Shmuel was a jew, who was forced into a Ghetto, and then into a death camp. The Nazis took all of his things, and his mother as well. Bruno does not understand why this is going on, or how horrible this is, so he just simply invites Shmuel to come live on "his side" of the fence. Shmuel, who really knows the importance of what is happening, declines and asks Bruno why he is at Out-With. Bruno goes on about how the house is small, and how Gretel is unbearable, still oblivious to the seriousness of the situation. Shmuel just understands that Bruno doesn't know, and the two boys become much closer after this conversation.
