Joseph Stalin was a dictator of the Soviet Union, who modernized russia and helped get rid of Nazism. He came into power after Vladimir Lenin died. He used his red army to fight the Nazi’s during world war two. Stalin took away the bolshevik agrarian policy that gave peasants and small growing organizations land, and that put them back to being serfs like they were when russia still had Czars. He had a huge part in defeating the germans in world war two.
