1 gen 1595 anni - The First Compound Microscope

Descrizione:

Dutch father and son, Zacharias Jansen and Hans, the two spectacle makers experimented and played with the lenses.

They put several lenses into a tube and when they looked at the object through the tube they made a huge discovery. The object appeared to be significantly enlargened.

It is believed by many that Zacharias wrote to a Dutch diplomat. William Boreel. He told him about the invention, what it does, how he made it and what he found. When the French king's physician questioned about the invention in the 1650's, Boreel recounted the design of the microscope.

Louis XIV (5 September 1638 – 1 September 1715) was the king of France during this.
