5 marzo 1770 anni - Road to Revolution: Boston Massacre

Descrizione:

As the colonists felt that they had been treated poorly and that the Townshend Act violated their right it lead to the small argument that escalated and ended in colonists getting killed. The argument came out of hand when more and more people got involved and the officers started shooting. This same day the British repealed all the taxes on imports except for tea. The Boston Massacre became an important event in the colonies. Groups like the Sons of Liberty used it to show the evils of British rule. Although the American Revolution would not start for another five years, the event moved people to look at British rule in a different light. In a closer period of time this was important for the Tea Act as the tax still was left on the tea.
