At the Ontario Court of Appeal, Romeo appealed the dismissal of his $14-million lawsuit against the Attorney General of Ontario and the two
police officers who had investigated his case. In April of 2014, an Ontario Superior Court justice decided the lawsuit would be an abuse of process because the appeal court had rejected suggestions of wrongdoing by police or the Crown and that too much time had passed to try Romeo’s claim now.
