In December 20, 1860 after the the South hears the news of Abraham Lincoln being elected, they become angry. The South believed that by Abraham Lincoln winning it is showing that the south has no voice in any of the opinions created in the United States. South Carolina then was the first state to secede from the Union and passed a declaration saying “the union now subsisting between South Carolina and the other states, under the name of the ‘United States of America’ is hereby dissolved."
