I was toilet trained just before the age of three. It taught gave me control of my own bodily functions and spurred me to become more independent. This was one of many things that I learned to do on my own as a toddler. I was very independent as a toddler, often veering off to touch and explore things that I had not seen before whenever I wanted to. I could get fascinated by a ball for hours, playing with it all alone in my own world while everybody else was doing another activity. That led me to be an independent person who is very comfortable doing things on his own.
