31 dic 1774 anni - Second Continental Congress
Descrizione:
Many of the delegates from the First Continental Congress returned for the Second Continental Congress. Along with those delegates there were also important newcomers. These newcomers included, Benjamin Franklin and John Hancock. Thomas Jefferson also arrived a little bit later. In the beginning, many of the delegates were very divided. People such as Samuel Adams, John Adams, Patrick Henry and Richard Henry Lee were leaning towards independence. The moderates of the group were looking to find some sort of compromise with Britain that would increase colonial self-rule. Many events however, helped to persuade most of the uncommitted delegates to vote for independence.
