21 lugl 1958 anni - Lev Vygotsky

Descrizione:

Lev Vygotsky was a Russian Educational Psychologist whose impact is largely intertwined with that of Jean Piaget as both were significantly invested in the learning and cognitive development of children. Vygotsky’s time however significantly precedes Piaget as Vygotsky did the bulk of his work in the 20’s and 30’s prior to his untimely death in 1934. As his theories were not widely accepted within Russia, he research and teachings were not available for public consumption until the end of the Cold War which was more receptive time period to these learning theories as they related to Instructional Systems Design. Vygotsky was a proponent of learning by social interaction, using the concept of a More Knowledgeable Other such as a teacher or mentor to “scaffold” or push the learner past the Zone of Proximal Development. This ZPD is a state of cognitive readiness that a learner would be in and would therefore be ready to construct knowledge as a result of being previously prepared with the necessary prerequisite skills.
