Descrizione:
The Neolithic (from Greek νέος, néos: 'new', and λίθος, líthos: 'stone'), or New or Polished Stone Age, is one of the periods in which the Stone Age is considered divided. The term was coined by John Lubbock in his work Prehistoric Times (1865).
Initially it was given this name because of the findings of polished stone tools, rather than carved; that is, rather than beaten, which was less resistant, 1 which seemed to accompany the development and expansion of agriculture. Today Neolithic is defined precisely because of the knowledge and use of agriculture or grazing. Normally, but not necessarily, it is accompanied by the work of pottery.
