St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre (19 févr. 1572 – 8 déc. 1572)

Description:

The massacre occurred in the heart of France when Catholics (Guise and Valois) began to murder French Huguenots. This plan was devised by the Guise family (aka the "Ultra-Catholics) who then persuaded the Valois (family on throne), primarily Catherine de Medici, to assist in the attacks. This lead to the death of Henry de Guise and discredidted the Valois dynasty, leaving it for the new Bourbon dynasty.
