The Human Genome Project, also known as the (HPG) was one of the greatest feats of exploration, the human race has ever seen. It was started in 1990 and was worked on by scientist all over the world. The project's goal was to discover and map all the human genomes, or in other words finish nature's blueprints for building a human being. After completion in 2003, the HPG revealed that the human being consists of 20,500 genes, a significant amount less than estimates that ranged from 50,000 up to 140,000 and is a resource for scientists all around the world.
