"A messenger arrived and told them that innumerable thousands of Turks were close, and were going to assemble in the castle near them known as Harim... They were coming secretly and quietly so that they could catch them unawares in their camps... Our men , drawn up on a slope, made the sign of the Cross with their arms, and strecthing their hands up to Heaven, committed themselves to God and begged his aid" (Robert, 129).
