Description:
Rodney King was viciously beaten by four LAPD officers after being pulled over for speeding.The three police and one Sergeant are charged with assault "by force with a deadly weapon likely to produce great bodily injury." A jury of 10 whites and 2 Hispanics find the officers not guilty on all charges, even when they had the evidence on tape. Since the tape was played nationwide people knew that the officers were guilty and many African Americans started rioting in South Central Los Angeles with good cause. These riots were in response to the obvious bias and awful injustice that our court system did at the time.
