#0.5 Saw FranchiseThe 10-minute "Saw" short was produced by Australian filmmakers James Wan and Leigh Whannell to pitch the idea of a feature film to American film studios. The short was shot in 18 days, wrapping on October 10, 2003. Twisted Pictures picked up the project and released the feature length film in 2004. The original short was not released to the public until October of 2005 via DVD.
