jan 1, 1929 - Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon Lime Soda
Description:
Most famous lithiated drink, with a mouthful of a name, Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda, obviously branded by a marketing mastermind, came on the scene in 1929. Its producer, the Howdy Company of St. Louis, “marketed the soda, which contained lithium citrate, as a hangover cure. ‘It takes the ouch out of grouch,’ went an early slogan.” They eventually shortened the drink’s name to 7-Up Lithiated Lemon-Lime, and today “we know its delithiated progeny as 7UP.”
