jun 4, 1984 - Housing Corporation: Building Suspensory Loans - starts
Description:
An interest-free building suspensory loan (of up to $5,000) was available from the Housing Corporation to people building a first home below a specified cost limit, provided that they obtained their mortgage finance from the private sector. While the loans did assist people with home ownership, the primary aim of this policy was to provide assistance to the building industry. From October 1986, building suspensory loans were replaced by the Home Start Deposit Scheme.
