jun 17, 1801 - Double Slit experiment - Thomas Young
Description:
Performed by Thomas Young, the double slit experiment provided solid evidence for the wave model of light. He split a light wave into two separate waves and saw that the pattern created by the waves had a crest and trough characteristic of waves and that diffraction, the bending of waves around the slit, occurred, proving light was a wave.
