Description:

The Malta Summit was a meeting between the US president, who at the time was George Bush, and the Soviet general secretary who was Mikhail Gorbachev.

No agreements were signed at the Malta Summit. Its main purpose was to provide the main superpowers, with an opportunity to discuss the rapid changes taking place in Europe with the lifting of the Iron Curtain.

It declared the end of the Cold War.
