jan 1, 1900 - D’Arcy oil concession In exchange for 16% of the revenue, The majority of Iran's oil rights were given by the shah to an Englishman by the name of William D'Arcy. The following years saw the discovery of significant amounts of oil, and lead to the British buying most of the company.
