feb 3, 1781 - Surrender of general Cornwallis in Yorktown (important)
Description:
Fought by America & France VS Britain
During the battle of Yorktown (aka siege of Yorktown), the British Army was surrounded at Yorktown, greatly outnumbered by the French and American army. For 11 days, American forces bombarded the British, when finally Cornwallis sent out the white flag for surrender.
(FUN FACT: At first Cornwallis made a lot of demands to George Washington for his surrender, but Washington didn't agree and started preparing for another attack, but then Cornwallis agreed to Wahsington's terms and the battle was over)
