How was it influenced?: First Nations had no influence on the confederation of Canada as they were excluded from the decision making and their opinions were disregarded.
What influence did it have?: Prior to confederation, Natives still dominated much land and had easy access to resources. This would diminish after confederation, as the railway built made for easy transportation and led to increased populations. Gave the Parliament jurisdiction over “Indians, and lands reserved for the Indians.”
