Clara is going to have a chance to speak at a ladies club. Once again, her father told her he forbids from doing that. However, Clara still went and spoke to women. Clara expressed how she felt, to the women there listening to her. She told them what they needed to know, how they are mistreated and have unfair rights. Clara is not really studying for exams because she just wants he voice to be heard. Clara is counting to do lectures but the men are getting a vote on whether to go on strike. The girls group was becoming stronger and it would be hard to say no. On top of that, her mother is asking her to stop but Clara said she cannot because the suffering of girls is part of her. Clara just needs to keep talking and encouraging the other girls to get fair rights. Pauline is a friend of Clara who has been very helpful and supporting throughout all of this. She is encouragement for both of them to just keep on going.
