Description:
The Dakota army surrounded New Ulm and the fight moves into the town. The Dakota use the houses and buildings to their advantage and shoot the townspeople from windows and doors. Then Little Crow to create confusion started to set fire to the buildings near the river. Finally the defenders set the Dakota makeshift fort on fire after hours of fighting, and the Dakota retreated at sunset.
