Description:

before: Kentucky evenly splite betwen secessionists and Unionists. Lincoln was cautious and let them trade with COnfederacy until august.

after: confederacy invades Kentucky in Spetember and they were driven out by Grant. Kentuckians now sided with the union.


significance: lincoln has 3 border states (Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky) and nw Virginia in Union
