Description:

Background:
-Altanta= railway hub at heart of the COnfederacy
-Confederate general Johnson stood in Sherman's way.
-June 1864- losses to Union at Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia.

during: Atlanta falls. Sherman pulled troops from tenches, had them sweep the city and destroy its rail links to the south. Confederate General Hood fled out of fear of being circled.
