nov 10, 1901 - Factory Act raised the minimum work age to 12 years old.
Description:
Looking around in Manchester I can see why this was changed. They raised the minimum work age to 12 years old to stop kids working to young, as this was what, was happening at the time because families could not afford to pay for their kids without putting them to work in the chimneys of the factories. This was going on a lot as there were a lot of people as i can see in this crowded street in Manchester.
