Description:
King George became the heir to the throne in 1751 after his father died, he was only 12 years old at the time. After he ascended the throne he the began the second longest reign in the history of Britain of 59 years second only to Queen Victoria. By the time King George was in power the colonies had a population of 1.5 million people and it was increasing rapidly. George III was a decent ruler but he didn't deal with the American colonies effectively and during his reign the British empire lost America. Later in life, he suffered years of insanity then died at the age of 81.
