jan 17, 2150 BC - 1st Intermediate Period

Description:

Some think the reason the Old Kingdom ended was because of Pepi II's long reign, which started when he was about 7-11 until his mid 90's.
Although this does not explain why the central government itself apparently had lost its control over the provinces and the provincial governors.

7/8th Dynasties:
2150-2130 BCE
These were rounded together because there was little to no information on the kings and literally anything else. These Dynasties only lasted about 20 years, which means each king only served 1 year or something. The seventh dynasty may have been an oligarchy comprising powerful officials of the sixth dynasty based in Memphis who attempted to retain control of the country. Little is known about these two dynasties since very little textual or architectural evidence survives to describe the period.

(Just a heads up, after this point I couldn't find like any info on any of the kings, and some of them probably weren't even a king, and also these aren't in order, no one knows the real order.)
~
Neterikare, can't find anything about him except that his father might have been Merenre II, but that's unlikely.
~
Menkare, literally no information.
~
Neferkare II, again, no information.
~
Neferkare III, maybe he married his sister.
~
Djedkare II, this one has a cool name though.
~
Neferkare IV, these guys sound like they don't care about anything. Never-care. Good life policy.
~
Merenhor, do these parents hate their kids? Actually, that's a good story.
~
Neferkamin I, so if the king didn't like child that his wife produced, they would just throw the baby away. Literally, they just didn't care.
~
Nikare, I think Egyptians are glorified. Like, pyramids are cool but how do you think they built them?
~
Neferkare V, aw yeah this guy again! He's cool, he's one of the bros.
~
Neferkahor, I wonder if these names mean anything. I'll look it up.
~
Neferkare VI, cool dude's name means... nothing. But I did find this cool hieroglyphics translator
~
Neferkamin II, you know I just realized I can copy and paste these. The next one's aren't gonna say anything.
~
Ibi I

9/10th Dynasties
2134-2050 BCE
Fantastic another one of these. Oh, here's some infooo! It was based in Heracleopolis, to the south of Memphis. That's it.
~
Neferkare VII, Ayeee here we are again.
~
Kheti, you know what I was thinking about doing? Actually, nevermind in case I do it.
~
Kheti, son of Neferkare, I'm pretty sure this is his actual name. Well at least we know Neferkare was his father.
~
Merikare, last kinggg! He has a cool name though.

11th Dynasty
2134-1991 BCE
Apparently, the reason there were so many kings in those Dynasties because a lot of them were self acclaimed and weren't actually kings. But we don't really know who is who, so we just assume they are all. That reminds me of a story that has nothing to do with this.
~
Antef I 2134-2118, there's no information again.
~
Antef II 2118-2069, no info again.
~
Antef III 2069-2061, nope.
~
Mentuhotep II 2061-2010, again, no info.
~
Mentuhotep III 2010-1998, I was really excited that there was an actual Dynasty and I got this.
~
Mentuhotep IV 1998-1991, apparently the last king of the 11th dynasty?
