The Gospel of Wealth was an article published by Andrew Carnegie. Andrew Carnegie was one of the wealthiest businessmen in America, in his article he wrote about philanthropy and being wealthy. Carnegie wrote that it is the duty of the wealthy to spend their money for/on the greater good with intent to close gaps between the rich and the poor. The Gospel of Wealth is important because it influenced other Captains of Industry in this time, including Rockefeller, who would end up changing the industry.
