About a 100 men attack new ulm at 3 pm the dakota pulled off 2 after 2 fierce hours of fighting.Governor Alexander Ramsey commissions Col Henry Sibley to lead the response against the Dakota. Sibley gathers his forces mostly untrained civilians and heads up the valley in pursuit of the Dakota.
