jun 20, 2029 - Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience
Description:
Vanny is a member of the Fazbear Entertainment Quality Assurance team, who gets attacked by Glitchtrap.
Vanny starts the introduction riding in a Freddy Fazbear cart along a track through the white void, before reaching a black one with a slideshow. Handunit welcomes Vanny to the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience, explaining that Fazbear Entertainment is excited to join the digital age, and in what better way than with an edge-of-your-seat virtual reality experience. They know that Fazbear Entertainment has developed somewhat of a bad reputation over the past few decades, and although it is true that some stories associated with their name were loosely based on actual events, he assures her that the majority of them were total fabrications from the mind of a complete lunatic (the lawsuits are pending). Fazbear Entertainment LLC are not above laughing at themselves, "Ha ha ha!", which is why they have recreated many of the completely fictitious scenarios (lies) the populace have been fed for the past few years into a hilarious virtual reality game, in the hopes that they can finally move on past childish ghost stories and develop a new relationship with the player, as well as their kids. He quickly reminds Vanny of the merch that is perfect for birthdays. So Handunit tells her to sit back and enjoy a few scares, although they do ask she agree to a simple waiver before playing, which is mostly just legal mumbo-jumbo, and not based on user experiences so far, nor injuries associated with testing. He instructs her to just press the button to agree, so they can jump into some harmless fun that cannot herm her in any harmful way, before thanking her for playing the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience.
The waiver reads, "Welcome to the Fazbear Entertainment Quality Assurance team. Before we can officially congratulate you on your fabulous lifetime career choice, you must first agree to this simple waiver. our lawyers have come up with a way to save you time by bypassing all the legal terms, and pages and pages of law-related verbiage by creating this simple in-game app. The most important points have been condensed to a single page. Consider precious moments of your life saved.
The auto-scroll feature was designed to protect you from potential repetitive stress injuries. It's just another way that Fazbear Entertainment cares for its employees. You should also take care not to over-exert your eyes while looking at such small text on a highly contrasting document screen. Therefore it is recommended that you rest your eyes while agreeing to these terms. Please close them now for safety purposes. Are they closed? Good. If you agree to the terms presented, you may press the button in front of you to confirm. Or, if you would like to reduce the risk of repetitive stress injury, you may allow the accept button to remain untouched for 10 seconds. The 10 second mark will let us know that you intend to press the accept button, but are a health-conscious individual."
Whether or not Vanny canonically presses the button is entirely unknown, but in the end, she agrees to the waiver, acknowledging Fazbear Entertainment LLC to not be responsible for accidental digital consciousness transference, real world manifestations of digital characters, nightmares, night terrors, night sweats, etc.
Now in the Hub, Vanny is welcomed to the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience... again. She can use the console in front of her to pick one of the available frightening experiences. More will unlock as they are completed. She will see plenty of familiar faces, and some new ones too. While Vanny stays to have a good time, Handunit reminds her that despite the temporary horror she may experience, it is a completely controlled environment and she is not in any real danger, although Fazbear Entertainment LLC is not responsible for real danger either.
Vanny has plenty of options to choose from, FNaF, FNaF 2, FNaF 3, not FNaF 4 (Night Terrors), Dark Rooms, Parts and Service, and Vent Repair, with four levels each.
FNaF is FNaF, FNaF 2 is FNaF 2, FNaF 3 is FNaF 3, basically, the games in the games are literally called "Five Nights at Freddy's", or at least the first main three. For them, it is mostly just general virtual reality adaptation changes for a three dimensional environment. Yup, surprise, surprise, the past FNaFs were actually just two dimensional, simply shocking, is it not?
Dark Rooms consists of the reused Fun with Plushtrap, Fun with Balloon Boy minigames, as well as one of the only FNaF: Sister Location segments of crossing the Funtime Auditorium. The one new minigame is Plushbabies, which everybody hates. Simply surviving until 6 AM, while using a slowly recharging, battery limited, flashlight to fend off the Plushbabies in a Prize Counter full of various plushies.
Night Terrors is FNaF 4, but with different characters. There is a version with Funtime Freddy, Bon-Bon, and even Bonnet too. The next level has Nightmarionne in all his tentacleness. The third one is hiding in a closet full of Plushbabies, from Circus baby. The final one is simply Nightmare Fredbear.
Parts and Service is brand new, getting up close and personal with the classic mascots for maintenance work. The main gameplay has previously been described as maintenance functions earlier on, so no need to explain much more here.
Vent Repair has only two options, Mangle and Ennard. Mangle's scenario is a certified vent technician fixing the ventilation while fending off the titular antagonist of the level to set the temperature to a perfect 72 degrees.
Ennard is at Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental, where it has been zero days since last incident.
STUFF. Also, 22.2222 degrees Celsius.
Tape 1: Tape Girl, in a prerecorded message, asks if Vanny can hear her and tells her to not exit the room, there is no mistake here. The room is not a mistake, Tape Girl had to hide her logs away from the core gameplay files in a place where the files could be protected and that only a beta tester would look. She just really, really hopes that the next development team finds it before the game is released. Tape Girl explains the game has some type of malicious code in it, which they have yet to fully contain, or even understand for that matter. They are out of time and over-budget, but that is not the reason they are shutting down. Tape Girl instructs her to listen, she has to keep it short, so the file size can fly under the radar, but there are more and they might not be in order.
Tape 2: Tape Girl says she saw a character for the first time, the day of recording, while playing FNaF. She could not see who was standing at the end of the hall. She thought it was simply bugged out, made note of it, and continued playing. Then, it was looking in the window, but not like Bonnie or Chica, it was as if it was actually looking through the window, seeing what Tape Girl was doing.
Tape 3: In the morning, Tape Girl heard a pretty heated discussion between their manager, Dale, and someone else on the phone. It feels to her like the project is in trouble, and she is sure it is in no small part because of the lawsuit, there has to be one and there is no way there is not. It happened in the exact same building, just a few doors down from her's. She thinks it is made worse by the fact Jeremy had tried to tell them something was not right. But as a development team, they all simply saw it as a challenge to find the problem and fix it. She ponders who could have known that, before she has to go.
Tape 4: Tape Girl asks if Vanny has ever heard of a guillotine paper slicer. It might sound made up, but it is a real piece of office equipment. Tape Girl did not even know they had one in the supply room, so she guesses them to be more common in businesses that do a lot of graphic design work. She remembers seeing one back when she was still in school, she knew even then how dangerous it appeared. She was always scared of losing a finger, but now it just seems so silly. She guesses Jeremy knew it was there because he used to do design work.
Tape 5: Tape Girl states that the drawers have been emptied out, meaning someone was there, but she does not think it was spring cleaning either. She realizes someone was definitely there during the night, due to plastic on the floor, to her, it had to be the client. They sent them the stuff with no explanation in the first place, told them to scan it, and said it would expedite the process so we would not need to program any pathfinding ourselves. She guesses it was a budget thing. It was all just junk, things like circuit boards, which looked pretty old. Although, there was somehow usable code on some of them. It seemed to take hold by itself, things started changing, but then he started appearing, according to what Jeremy said.
Tape 6: Tape Girl came in early that morning, she thought no one else was there. The supply room was lit, she did not even notice Jeremy standing in the testing room when she walked past, the supply room was so bright and glowing from all the way down the hall.
Tape 7: Tape Girl states that when Jeremy came in this morning, he complained of nightmares. Though he was not talking about it like someone telling their friend about dreams. Jeremy looked pale, as if he had not eaten in days. Jeremy spent an hour talking in Dale's office, but it did not look like he got much sympathy. He went straight back to the testing room, after he left Dale's office. Nothing scares Jeremy, he does not even jump anymore. All Jeremy does is stand like he is talking to someone, sometimes he rocks side to side. They were told to leave Jeremy be. Tape Girl knew she was next in que to do the testing, they were prepping her for it. She guesses they knew Jeremy would soon need to be replaced.
Tape 8: Tape Girl explains that you can always tell when a company is preparing to fire somebody, they start to give out written warnings for silly things, in order to make a sure paper trail and a case for a firing. She states that things normally nobody cares about suddenly turn into grave offenses, worth of being written and documented. She supposes it works two ways, as it encourages a person to quit, instead of being so heavily scrutinized. Tape Girl thinks Jeremy was too far gone to consider quitting though. The thing is, that she does not think they were going to fire him for anything he was doing wrong, they just knew he had seen something and they needed to discredit him.
Tape 9: Tape Girl describes how there was something that looked like a Halloween mask laying on the floor. She did not understand, ink must have been spilt. Only then did she hear a shuffle from the testing room and realize Jeremy must have been in there. She backtracked and peered through the window, but the visor was covering jeremy's head, so she could not see his face. Jeremy had ink spilled on himself too, the front of his shirt appeared black in the dark room. Jeremy turned his head in Tape Girl's direction, but she does not think he knew she was there.
Tape 10: Tape Girl was told she had three days to finish Jeremy's work, but she knew it was just to pass the time. They do not really expect her to do anything, it is merely to keep up appearances until the buyout is completed. They have got to look like they have things under control. There is another potential development studio that wants to pick up from where they are, but who knows what lies they are being fed to convince them to do it. Against her better judgement, she is going to do her best to see what there is, take notes, and then try to isolate where it is hiding. Then, at the least, the next person to test it will have a chance to get rid of it.
Tape 11: It is Tape Girl's last day of beta testing and the anomaly she has been witnessing is nowhere to be found. But after inspecting some of the files, it appears that it has attached itself to her logs. Now, Tape Girl has to make a choice, does she leave the logs for Vanny or does she attempt to purge it herself via destruction of her recordings. She chooses the latter.
Tape 12: Tape Girl cannot delete them, by making a protected area to store her logs away from the game, she effectively gave the anomaly a safe space to hide itself in now. She may not be capable of deleting it, but she might have an idea of something else to do, now that it has attached itself.
Tape 13: They lied to Tape Girl, they lied to all of them. They told them the entire point of the virtual reality game was to undo the bad PR from a rogue indie game developer, who supposedly made up a ton of crazy stories which tarnished the brand. It is not true at all. In their haste to develop this virtual reality game and clear their name, they sent them some stuff she does not think they intended for them to see. Namely, a hard drive containing emails between Fazbear Entertainment LLC and a certain indie game developer. They hired the game developer, the games were designed to conceal and make light of what happened. It is not just an attempt to rebrand, but an elaborate cover-up, a campaign to discredit everything.
Tape 14: Tape Girl ran a fragmentation program on the section of the memory storing the logs for Vanny. She effectively broke the files into pieces, with the anomaly being broken along with it. It means Vanny will not have Tape Girl's warnings to guide her, but it hopefully also means the anomaly, the virus, or whatever it is, will remain broken and incapable of doing any more damage.
Tape 15: Tape Girl reintroduces herself and says that Vanny, in fact, does not know her. She created a series of logs for Vanny documenting the troubled development of the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience, which she is now testing in the hope that Vanny, whoever she is, and whatever team she is with, will abandon development. Tape Girl now fears the logs are being used as a Trojan horse. If Vanny is unable to abandon development, she should hide all traces of the logs she has created. Tape Girl is afraid that finding and reassembling them will also reassemble the antithesis of what she has tried to desperately to destroy.
Tape 16: Tape Girl 180s and says there is actually a way to kill it. It wants to escape through someone plugged into the game, that being Vanny. She has to let it begin the process of leaving through her, then use the disconnect switch Tape Girl embedded by the main stage. Vanny should let it approach and begin to merge with her. She must play the music and flip the switch, which will cause a hard restart of the game and flush the memory, effectively killing it, Tape girl hopes, but she does not know when it will come for Vanny.
