feb 2, 1848 - War With Mexico Treaty
Description:
On February 2, 1848, Mexico surrendered with the U.S. They both gave each other something in return. Of course, since the U.S. won, they got more and Mexico paid better. Mexico gave all of the Southwest and California and stated that the border was called the Rio Grande. While U.S. on the other hand, paid Mexico 15 million dollars. It does seem the U.S. paid better, but there are houses about 1 billion dollars. They gave a lot of land to the U.S. and in return, they probably didn't even get half of what that land costed. This was allotted of work for them to work together on. (Question 5, For and Against the War, WWM).
