On the following morning of Thursday, June 27, the man behind the disappearances was identified by video surveillance and apprehended. The children themselves were never found and are (correctly) presumed dead, since they are never Coming Home. What the police do find is that the suspect used a mascot costume to earn the children's trust, eventually convicting him. Although, nothing was ever proven in a court of law, so I guess they only just charged him. The event comes to be known as, "The Missing Children Incident" [58].
