Description:
Hardin Perkins with James Lockwood and Joseph Rolette receive permission from US Government and Chief Wabashaw (Dakota Indians) and the Ojibwe chiefs to built a dam and mill on the Chippewa River or its tributaries. Supposed to pay Wabashaw, Dakotas, and Ojibwes annually in July. Dam and mill were built on what is now Wilson Creek but a sudden flood came and swept everything away before they were operational. Perkins abandoned the site.
