Description:
The Stalemate on the Western Front was chosen by the Germans. They chose the most defensible ground in Northern France. They also chose it to try and free troops up and get Russia out of the war. The use of trench warfare was used greatly in WWI. Trench Warfare was the use of digging trenches and laying in them while shooting. This gave another line of defense against artillery.
