nov 4, 1952 - Presidential Election of 1952

Description:

Republican candidate Dwight D. Eisenhower had promised that if he was elected, he would end the Korean War. Once elected, he visited Korea, spoke to the troops involved, and examined the enemy's fortifications. He was convinced that the strong action would be to break the stalemate. He also hinted about nuclear weapons being introduced. His warning and Stalin's death convinced communists to settle conflict.
