Description:
Sibley tries to negotiate with Little Crow, but Little Crow isn't ready to give up. Sibley demands surrender. In the middle of September Sibley and his troops want to defeat the Dakota quickly. They start to head up the Minnesota River. They arrive at Lone Lake Tree. The take camp there on the night of September 22. The next morning a small group of us soldiers go hunting for food. While searching for food they stumble on a group of Dakota who has been preparing to go to war with Sibley and his troops. The Battle at Wood Lake was the last major battle in the U.S Dakota war.
