Description:

One of the last and most decisive battles of the Second World War was undoubtedly the Battle of Berlin.

This battle began on April 16, 1945, when the troops of the Soviet Union entered Berlin and began to advance and destroy the city. Nazi Germany was in one of its worst moments, product of the horrific bombings that had suffered from the United States and the United Kingdom, so one more fight would cause them to collapse. Hitler ordered his troops to defend the city with everything, but the Soviet attacks were too many and their advance in Berlin was very fast. Stalin's Red Army fought house to house and each time had more land. In addition, the heavy artillery of the Soviets added to the attacks of the same ones, caused that Berlin deteriorates and was in ruins. Buildings and public places were destroyed and most of the city was devastated.

Finally, the Soviets managed to enter the Reichstag Building, causing panic in the Germans. In addition, on April 30, Hitler commits suicide and leaves the Third Reich without a leader. This causes that the 7 of May of 1945, Germany surrenders before the Soviets and later, is occupied by the allied forces of the United States, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, France and the already penetrated Soviet Union
