Many battle’s had been fought and Sibley proposes a settlement deal with little crow. Little crow states his terms and states that he is willing to release some prisoners. He also refuses the deal and Sibley demands surrender. Little crow refuses. Sibley hears that the government wants a quick finish to the war and camps at wood lake for an attack. A few soldiers stumble upon a group of Dakota while searching for food. The battle was the last major one of the war. The Dakota suffers a crippling defeat.
