Description:
In early September Henry Sibley meets with Little Crow to negotiate. Little Crow gives his reasons for the war, but Sibley demandes surrender. Little Crow refuses. Mid-September Sibley and his troops arrive at Lone Tree Lake eager to defeat the Dakota. The Dakota discover them and are planning a surprise attack when a group of U.S. soldiers stumble upon them. This was the last battle in the Dakota war, resulting in a conclusive defeat for the Dakota.
