aug 1, 1831 - 1831 | Nat Turner's Rebellion
Description:
In August, a slave named Nat Turner made an uprise in Southern Virginia against slavery. They were rebellious for about two days. One day, 55 slaves including Turner were executed for what they did. Although it was a rebellious act, it inspired many people, but unfortunately afterwards, the Virginia lawmakers made the civil rights for slaves harder. The sedition, or incitement of discontent or rebellion against a government, was not the greatest, but quite inspirational.
