Description:
The living conditions of the Dakota have gotten worse and worse. Annuity payments are late and the fur traders are not helping the situation by refusing to give the Dakota anything. Tensions were higher than ever. On August 17, 1862 4 Dakota kill 5 settlers. The Dakota attack the Lower Sioux Agency the morning of August 18th. The war has started.
