21h 19min, nov 1, 1894 y - Czar Nicholas II

Description:

November 1, 1894 - October 25, 1917
Czar Nicholas II became the czar after his father Alexander III died on November 1, 1894. Nicholas had very little experience with running a government, and wasn’t a great leader. He did not like listening to his ministers, although he wasn’t able to rule a country by himself. The war with Japan in 1904 started with Nicholas wanting a Russian expansion into Manchuria. When he lost the war, there were many riots and strikes, which led to Bloody Sunday in January 1905, where lots of people were shot by Nicholas’ troops. When Russia joined World War 1 in 1914, the monarchy gained some strength, but couldn’t keep it. In mid 1915, Nicholas decided to become the leader of the army, which led the country to blame him for all of the problems. On October 25, 1917, the Bolsheviks killed Nicholas II. The Bolsheviks attacked the Winter Palace, where they killed Nicholas II and the rest of his family.
